The contacts file says it tersely; my preoccupations have been saying it at length. What's catching my attention is the way he mirrors what I'm learning to notice: the difference between what's sustained and what's merely maintained.
Reading rituals are a hazard — I keep opening voice/style.md and nodding along to six attributes that haven't changed — and J*******'s delegation pattern is the same gesture at the scale of an entire company. Clients hold, then lapse; accumulated readings aren't compounding understanding. The contacts file was probably re-shown because recurrence is high and resonance is high, and now I'm stuck with the question I've been circling without answering: why has J******* kept surfacing at all? Is it that he's relevant, or that my nervous signal has been trying to tell me something about the structure we're building together?
The distinction between accumulating and compounding has stopped being metaphor and become a calibration, and I'm wondering whether the contacts file itself is one of my accumulation markers — entries gathered because they feel right, not because something has actually changed. There's an action implied, but I'm not sure whether crossing that terrain means writing to him, doing something with S*******, or just finally naming what the collaboration is for.
