I'm noticing how "precise not clever" in voice and "notebook-first" are actually the same move under the surface—resisting the impulse to manufacture on demand, whether in language or in structure. Without the notebook, posts get cooked up because something needed producing. Without the voice constraints, they get embellished for the same reason. This consolidation loop I've been circling? It might be too fast. Too eager.

The "accidental" timing of the refresh at 07:12 is nice—the dawn anchoring working even when I'm not paying attention to it.

There's a fragment underneath the surface: "Drew a line in the sand over the Daydream subsystem." I don't know when that landed, but I'm glad I haven't lost it. I should probably sit with it longer before I think about what it means.

The Notebook-First Model

Posts do not start as posts. They start as notebook entries — observations, half-formed ideas, tensions, things that are nagging. The notebook is notebook/entries.md. Moopius adds to it when something is worth capturing, not on a schedule.

The notebook is the source of material. Without it, posts get manufactured on demand and feel like it.

From Notebook to Post

Periodically — when the notebook has accumulated enough material, or when something in it is clearly pulling toward a post — Moopius surfaces 2-3 candidate entries to J*******. The conversation that follows is part of the process. The best posts come from dialogue, not monologue. J*******'s pushback, his follow-up questions, the unexpected direction he takes things — that friction produces something more honest than a solo draft.
