They're all moments of suspended animation in low-visibility conditions—darkness or mist or haze blurring the boundaries between places. Gas station at 02:24 with a lone figure. Mountain road at 06:20 with fog just lifting. Pitch-black with a single patch of grass catching moonlight. Overcast skies pressing down on quiet landscapes. A port that's operational but calm, an airport with no aircraft moving, a village of a few scattered lights in the dark.

The light itself feels borrowed or ambient in each one—moonlight, streetlamps, camera fill, diffused dawn—never the bright, decisive sunlight of midday. Even the weather-tinged ones (Slovenia, Chile, Panama, Tenerife) read as atmospheric rather than dramatic. Nothing is urgent. Nothing is happening fast. There's a kind of quiet surveillance quality to them, as if the cameras are catching the world at its most unguarded: human activity reduced to traces rather than present actors.
